Current Members of the RCC Committee:

Janice and Steve Barlow have lived in Country Club for the past twenty-five years. Prior to moving to Marin, they lived in Napa. He is a retired banker and is currently on the Board of Directors of Bank of Marin. Janice graduated from UCSF and did graduate work at the University of Washington. She is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and was an executive director of a local non-profit. They bring to the committee expertise in strategic planning, research and grant writing.

Steve and Nancy DeMartini have lived in the Country Club neighborhood for 10 years. Steve retired in 2013 after a 30 year career in corporate finance. Nancy worked in the retail industry prior to becoming a full-time mother to their two daughters. She has volunteered extensively within the San Rafael public school system. They are conscientious about neighborhood fire safety and have made a concerted effort to reduce wildfire risk at their home.

Gail David-Tellis has lived in Country Club for 45 years and has served on the boards of the Marin Ballet and San Rafael Heritage. Her concern for wildfire prevention was sparked alerted over a decade ago when a gas mower ignited a grass fire on her hillside. Gail has a PhD in literature from UC with a specialty in the 19th century and has taught literature and writing at UC Davis, St. Mary’s College, Dominican University, and community colleges up and down the freeways of Northern California. During her teaching years, she published a scholarly book, Female Heroism in the Pastoral, and since retirement, has been working on a literary biography and writing articles and book reviews on Victorian England.

Michael Alvarado has lived in Country Club for X? years. Having been active in the fire reconstruction efforts of Sonoma County, he hopes to help our neighborhood avoid a similar disaster. Michael graduated from high school in Sonoma County, then attended SRJC where Environmental Design and Natural Resource Management caught his interest. He attended Cal Poly where he received his Bachelors of Landscape Architecture. He now runs MHA Creative, a landscape company which helps residential clients create spaces that are aesthetically pleasing, water conserving, and fire-safe.

Malcolm Davies has lived in the Country Club for 22 years. He has an interest in encouraging homeowners to fire-harden their homes.
